     Francis Charles Joseph Vane-Tempest was born in 1911. He is the son of Major Francis Adolphus Vane-Tempest and Gertrude Magdalen Elliot. He married, firstly, Pamela Mary Abel Smith, daughter of Major Edwin Philip Abel Smith, on 2 June 1931. He married, secondly, Penelope Joan Bevan, daughter of Edmund Henry Bevan, in 1935. He and Penelope Joan Bevan were divorced in 1950.
     His marriage to Pamela Mary Abel Smith was annulled in 1935.

     Pamela Mary Abel Smith was the daughter of Major Edwin Philip Abel Smith. She married Francis Charles Joseph Vane-Tempest, son of Major Francis Adolphus Vane-Tempest and Gertrude Magdalen Elliot, on 2 June 1931. She died on 17 December 1953.
     Her married name became Vane-Tempest. Her marriage to Francis Charles Joseph Vane-Tempest was annulled in 1935.
