     Nicholas MOSELEY later MOSLEY Moseley was born circa 1527.1 He was the son of Edward Moseley and Margaret Elcock.2 He married Margaret Whitbroke, daughter of Hugh Whitbroke.1 He died on 12 December 1612, by his 1st w:.1
      Lancs 1604 High Sheriff.1 Sir.1 Circa 1589 London: Alderman Aldersgate Ward , Sheriff 1590, Lord Mayor 1599–1600, knighted c 1600.1 On 19 October 1592 married 2nd Elizabeth, daughter of John Rookes and widow of – Hendley, of London.1 In 1596 acquired for £3,500 (over £76,000 in late-1990s terms) in settlement of a debt the Manor of Manchester, which remained in the family till acquired by Manchester Corporation 1846.1
