Benjamin Moseley1

     Benjamin Moseley was born on 1 March 1746.1 He was the son of Edward Moseley.2 He married Martha Clare on 9 January 1768.1 He died on 25 September 1819 at age 73.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign in the 79th Regiment.1 He was member of the American Philosophical Society in 1775.1 He held the office of Surgeon-General [Jamaica] in 1775.1 He was Magistrate and Assistant Judge of St. Andrew's Parish, Jamaica.1
He wrote the book Treatise Upon Coffee, published 1785.1 He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.) in 1787.1 He wrote the book Tropical Diseases, Military Operations, and the Climate of the West Indies, published 1788.1 He was Physician to the Duke of York in 1788.1 He was Physician in 1789 at Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London, England.1 He was Physician to the Duke of Clrance in 1789.1 He graduated from Leyden University, Leyden, The NetherlandsG, in 1791 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He wrote the book Treatise on Sugar, published 1799.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Middlesex in 1814.1

     She lived at Merton, Surrey, England.1 Her married name became Moseley.

     William Henry Moseley was the son of Benjamin Moseley and Martha Clare.2 He died in 1823, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He lived at Yeoman's Row, London, England.1 He was Physician to the Forces in 1805.1 He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, in 1805 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1
