     Sir Gilbert Ramsay of Ramsay, 1st Bt. was the son of David Ramsay of Ramsay and Margaret Ogilvie.2 He married Elizabeth Auchineck, daughter of George Auchineck of Balmanno.1 He died in 1666), daughter of James Durham of Pitkerrow and widow of Sir Alexander Fotheringham.1 He died circa 1663, by her an only son:.1
     He lived Balmain.1 With remainder to heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Baronet Ramsay on 3 September 1625.1 In 1630 married (2nd?) , as her 2nd husband, Grizel (married 3rd, as his 1st wife of two, 1st Earl of Middleton of the 1660 created (forfeited 1695).1 He was joined Covenanters (Presbyterians opposed to CHARLES I's anglicanising tendencies in church matters) , Member of Parliament (M.P.) (S Parl) Kincardineshire 1639–41, 1645–46 and 1661–63, Commissioner of Excise 1646 in 1636.1

Sir David Ramsay of Ramsay, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir David Ramsay of Ramsay, 2nd Bt. is the son of Sir Gilbert Ramsay of Ramsay, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Auchineck.2 He married Margaret Carnegie, daughter of Sir James Carnegie of Balnamoon.1
     He gained the title of 2nd Baronet Ramsay.1 He was regranted by charter his lands and barony , Member of Parliament (M.P.) (S Parl) Kincardineshire 1672–73 in 1670.1 In September 1673 married 2nd(?) Elizabeth, née Coutts, widow of Sir Alexander Burnett of Leys, 2nd Bt, and was killed in a fall from his horse by his 1st wife an only son.1

     Sir Charles Ramsay of Ramsay, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir David Ramsay of Ramsay, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Carnegie.2 He married Margaret Northesk, daughter of John Carnegie of Boysack (see Northesk, circa 1673.1 He died in 1695.1
      Married 2nd Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Alexander Falconer of Glenfarquhar.1 He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Ramsay.1
