     Alexander Napier was the son of Robert Napier and Anna Drummond.² He married, firstly, Marion Houstoun, daughter of Sir Ludovic Houstoun of Houstoun and Margaret Maxwell.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Lennox of Woodhead.¹ He died in 1702.¹
     He purchased Culcreuch in 1675 from William Napier.² He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Napier, of Merchistoun [N.S., 1627] on 7 August 1683, de jure.¹

     Edith Hodgson Horsfall was baptised on 5 June 1867 at Christ Church, Great Homer Street, Everton, Lancashire, England.¹ She was the daughter of George Henry Horsfall and Sarah Jane Hodgson.¹ She died on 26 September 1934 at age 67, unmarried.¹

     Margaret Lennox married John Napier of Culcreuch, son of Alexander Napier and Margaret Lennox of Woodhead.¹
     Her married name became Napier.

     William Napier of Culcreuch is the son of John Napier of Culcreuch and Margaret Lennox.² He married Jean Milliken, daughter of James Milliken of Milliken and Jean Macdowall.¹
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Napier, of Merchistoun [N.S., 1627], de jure.¹

     Ninian Bannatyne Stewart was baptised on 8 August 1891 at Kelvin, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ He was the son of Ninian Bannatyne Stewart and Maria Amelia Stewart.¹

     Jean Milliken is the daughter of James Milliken of Milliken and Jean Macdowall.² She married William Napier of Culcreuch, son of John Napier of Culcreuch and Margaret Lennox.¹
     Her married name became Napier.

     Robert John Milliken Napier of Culcreuch was born in 1765.¹ He was the son of William Napier of Culcreuch and Jean Milliken.² He married Anne Campbell, daughter of Robert Campbell of Downie, in 1786.¹ He died in 1808.¹
     He was given the name of Robert John Napier at birth.¹ His name was legally changed to Robert John Milliken Napier under the terms of his maternal grandfather's will.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Napier, of Merchistoun [N.S., 1627], de jure.¹ He fought in the Siege of Mangalore, East Indies, as commander.¹ He gained the rank of senior Colonel in the Army.¹
