Alexander Napier was the son of Robert Napier and Anna Drummond.2 He married, firstly, Marion Houstoun, daughter of Sir Ludovic Houstoun of Houstoun and Margaret Maxwell.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Lennox of Woodhead.1 He died in 1702.1
He purchased Culcreuch in 1675 from William Napier.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Napier, of Merchistoun [N.S., 1627] on 7 August 1683, de jure.1

Edith Hodgson Horsfall was baptised on 5 June 1867 at Christ Church, Great Homer Street, Everton, Lancashire, England.1 She was the daughter of George Henry Horsfall and Sarah Jane Hodgson.1 She died on 26 September 1934 at age 67, unmarried.1
