Arthur Marcus Lowther Crofton was born on 7 September 1898.1 He is the son of Arthur Edward Lowther Crofton, 4th Baron Crofton of Mote and Jessie Castle Hewitson.2 He married, firstly, Marguerite Welchman, daughter of Major Deffield Welchman, on 26 November 1919.1 He married, secondly, Ursula Augusta Jane Mahon, daughter of Sir William Henry Mahon, 5th Bt. and Hon. Edith Augusta Dillon, on 17 July 1929.1 He married, thirdly, Clive de Lacy Tainton in 1946.1 He married, fourthly, Madeleine Barbara Heath, daughter of William James Heath, on 4 October 1951.1 He and Marguerite Welchman were divorced in 1923.1 He and Ursula Augusta Jane Mahon were divorced in 1946.1 He died on 23 May 1962 at age 63.1

     Arthur Edward Lowther Crofton, 4th Baron Crofton of Mote was born on 7 August 1866.3 He was the son of Hon. Charles St. George Crofton and Theresa Augusta Bunbury-Tighe.2 He married Jessie Castle Hewitson, daughter of James Hewitson, on 14 April 1893.3 He died on 15 June 1942 at age 75.3
     Arthur Edward Lowther Crofton, 4th Baron Crofton of Mote held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Roscommon.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Northumberland Fusiliers.3 He held the office of Representative Peer [Ireland].3 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Crofton of Mote, co. Roscommon [I., 1798] on 22 September 1912.3 He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Lowther-Crofton, of The Moate, co.      Jessie Castle Hewitson was the daughter of James Hewitson. She married, firstly, Neville Paddon before 1893.1 She married, secondly, Arthur Edward Lowther Crofton, 4th Baron Crofton of Mote, son of Hon. Charles St. George Crofton and Theresa Augusta Bunbury-Tighe, on 14 April 1893.1 She died on 19 January 1923.
     From before 1893, her married name became Paddon.1 Her married name became Crofton. As a result of her marriage, Jessie Castle Hewitson was styled as Baroness Crofton of Mote on 22 September 1912.
