Harriet Louisa Crofton was born on 20 March 1775.2 She was the daughter of Sir Edward Crofton, 2nd Bt. and Anne Croker, Baroness Crofton of Mote.3 She married General Sir Peregrine Maitland, son of Thomas Maitland and Eliza Mathew, on 8 June 1803 at St. George Hanover SQuare, London, England.1,2 She died on 2 November 1805 at age 30.1,2
     Hon. Harriet Louisa Crofton usually went by her middle name of Louisa.1 From 8 June 1803, her married name became Maitland.
