     Robert Leighton was the son of Edward Leighton and Abigail Stephens.2 He married Gertrude Baldwyn, daughter of Edward Baldwyn.1 He died in 1689.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shrewsbury between 1660 and 1678.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire.1 He was one of the proposed Knights of the Oak (a chivalric order proposed by King Charles II but never instituted.)1

     Sarah Lawrence was born circa 1723.1 She married, firstly, Samuel Gurney, son of Joseph Gurney and Hannah Middleton, on 3 April 1755 at Norwich, Norfolk, England.1 She married, secondly, Thomas Bland on 2 March 1775 at Tasbargh, Norwich, Norfolk, England.1 She died on 14 September 1800 at Norwich, Norfolk, England.1
     From 3 April 1755, her married name became Gurney.2 From 2 March 1775, her married name became Bland.1
