     Isobel Lockhart was the daughter of Sir William Lockhart of Carstairs, 1st Bt. and Lady Isabel Douglas.^2,1 She married Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 1st Bt. and Hon. Isabel Sandilands, in 1702.¹
     From 1702, her married name became Kirkpatrick.¹

     Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 3rd Bt. was born in 1704.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 2nd Bt. and Isobel Lockhart.² He married Susanna Grierson, daughter of James Grierson of Capenoch and Catherine Sharp.¹ He died in October 1771.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Kirkpatrick, of Closeburn [N.S., 1685].¹

     James Kirkpatrick was born in 1704.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 2nd Bt. and Isobel Lockhart.² He died at Calcutta, India, unmarried.¹

     William Kirkpatrick was born in 1705.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 2nd Bt. and Isobel Lockhart.² He married Jean Erskine, daughter of Charles Erskine of Alva, Lord Tinwald.¹ He died on 17 October 1777 at Shaws House, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.^1,3
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries burghs between 1736 and 1738.¹ He was Clerk of the Court of Session in 1738.¹

     Jean Erskine was born on 25 April 1726 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.² She was the daughter of Charles Erskine of Alva, Lord Tinwald.³ She married William Kirkpatrick, son of Sir Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn, 2nd Bt. and Isobel Lockhart.¹ She died on 23 September 1752 at age 26 at Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland, in childbirth.²
     Her married name became Kirkpatrick.

     Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe was born on 25 November 1749 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.² He was the son of William Kirkpatrick and Jean Erskine.³ He married Eleanora Renton, daughter of John Renton of Lamberton and Lady Susan Montgomerie, on 22 August 1770.¹ He died on 9 March 1813 at age 63.²
     He was given the name of Charles Kirkpatrick at birth.¹ He lived at Hoddom, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.¹

     Eleanora Renton was born circa 1748.² She was the daughter of John Renton of Lamberton and Lady Susan Montgomerie.^3,2 She married Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe, son of William Kirkpatrick and Jean Erskine, on 22 August 1770.¹ She died on 8 August 1836 at Hoddom Castle, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.²
     From 22 August 1770, her married name became Kirkpatrick Sharpe.
