     Ronald Gorell Barnes, 3rd Baron Gorell was born on 16 April 1884.¹ He was the son of John Gorell Barnes, 1st Baron Gorell and Mary Humpston Mitchell.² He married Maud Elizabeth Furse Radcliffe, daughter of Alexander Nelson Radcliffe, on 10 January 1922.¹ He died on 2 May 1963 at age 79.¹

Derby [U.K., 1909] on 16 January 1917.¹ He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Officer, Order of Leopold of Belgium.¹ He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He was president of the Royal Society Teachers between 1929 and 1935.¹ He was editor of Cornhill Magazine between 1933 and 1939.¹

     Hon. Aura Ellida Gorell Barnes was born on 31 January 1887.¹ She was the daughter of John Gorell Barnes, 1st Baron Gorell and Mary Humpston Mitchell.² She died on 28 February 1945 at age 58, unmarried.¹
