     John Talbot Rice was born on 16 April 1819.1 He was the son of Reverend Edward Rhys and Charlotte Lascelles.2 He married Clara Louisa Reade, daughter of Sir John Chandos Reade, 7th Bt., on 13 October 1846.1 He died on 12 May 1899 at age 80, without issue.1
     On 24 October 1855 married 2nd Elizabeth Lucy (died 25 Oct 1914), daughter of Robert Boyd.1
