     Mary Lechmere was the daughter of Vice-Admiral William Lechmere.2 She married Reverend unknown Saumarez, 2nd Baron de Saumarez, son of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant, on 5 October 1814.1 She died in May 1849.1
     From 5 October 1814, her married name became Saumarez. As a result of her marriage, Mary Lechmere was styled as Baroness de Saumarez on 9 October 1836.

     Thomas Le Marchant Saumarez was born on 30 October 1803.1 He was the son of Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez and Martha Le Marchant.2 He married Catherine Spencer A. Beresford Vassall, daughter of Lt.-Col. Spencer Vassall, on 1 October 1829.1 He died on 4 July 1834 at age 30 at Montevideo, Uruguay, killed in action.1

     James St. Vincent Saumarez, 4th Baron Saumrez was born on 17 July 1843.1 He was the son of Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez and Caroline Esther Rhodes.2 He married Jane Anne Vere-Broke, daughter of Captain Charles Acton Vere-Broke, on 10 October 1882.1 He died on 25 April 1937 at age 93.1
     James St. Vincent Saumarez, 4th Baron Saumrez was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Grenadier Guards.1 He was in the Diplomatic Service between 1867 and 1883.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron de Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K., 1831] on 8 January 1881.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K., 1801] on 8 January 1881.1
