     Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez was born on 11 March 1757.3 He was the son of Matthew Saumarez and Carteret Le Marchant.2 He married Martha Le Marchant, daughter of Thomas Le Marchant and Mary Dobrée, on 27 October 1788.3 He died on 9 October 1836 at age 79.3
     Admiral James Saumarez, 1st Baron de Saumarez gained the rank of Colonel in 1799 in the service of the Royal Marines.3 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1801.3 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1801.3 He was created 1st Baronet Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K.] on 13 June 1801.3 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1806.3 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue in 1814.3 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1815.3 He gained the rank of Admiral of the White in 1819.1 He held the office of Rear-Admiral of the U.K. between 1819 and 1821.3 He held the office of Vice-Admiral of the U.K. between 1821 and 1832.3 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Red in 1830.3 He was created 1st Baron de Saumarez, in the Island of Guernsey [U.K.] on 15 September 1831.3

     General Sir Thomas Saumarez was born on 1 July 1760.1 He was the son of Matthew Saumarez and Carteret Le Marchant.2 He married Harriet Brock, daughter of William Brock.1 He died on 4 March 1845 at age 84, without issue.1
     General Sir Thomas Saumarez fought in the American War of Independence.1 He was Equerry and Groom of Chamber to the Duke of Kent in 1790.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the New Brunswick in 1813.1

     Richard Saumarez was born on 13 November 1764.1 He was the son of Matthew Saumarez and Carteret Le Marchant.2 He married Martha Le Mesurier, daughter of John Le Mesurier, on 9 January 1786.1 He died on 27 January 1835 at age 70.1
     Richard Saumarez was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.).1 He was invested as a Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.).3 He was a surgeon.1 He lived at Newington, Surrey, England.1
