Colonel Thomas Tupper Carter-Campbell1

     Colonel Thomas Tupper Carter-Campbell was born on 8 February 1838.1 He was the son of Admiral John Carter and Julia Adery Georges.2 He married Emily Georgiana Campbell, 4th of Possil, daughter of General George Campbell and Susan Campbell, on 15 September 1864.1 He died on 14 January 1900 at age 61.1
     He was given the name of Thomas Tupper Carter at birth.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Bengal Enginneers.1 In 1893 his name was legally changed to Thomas Tupper Carter-Campbell.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1

     General George Campbell married Susan Campbell, daughter of Colonel Alexander Campbell, 1st of Possil and Harriet Maclachlan.2 He died in 1882.2
     He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).2 He gained the rank of General in the service of the Royal Bengal Artillery.1

     Emily Georgiana Campbell, 4th of Possil was the daughter of General George Campbell and Susan Campbell.2,3 She married Colonel Thomas Tupper Carter-Campbell, son of Admiral John Carter and Julia Adery Georges, on 15 September 1864.1 She died on 15 January 1906.1
     She lived at Possil, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 She lived at Ardrishaig, Argyllshire, Scotland.1 From 15 September 1864, her married name became Carter. From 1893, her married name became Carter-Campbell.
