     Duncan Maclachlan Carter-Campbell, 8th of Possil was born on 5 December 1911.2 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. George Tupper Campbell Carter-Campbell and Frances Elizabeth Ward.1 He married Margaret Elliot Davidson, daughter of Norman Thain Davidson, on 31 July 1948.2 He died in January 1990 at age 78.3
     He was educated at Malvern College, Malvern, Worcestershire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was commissioned in 1932, in the service of the The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles.)2 He fought in the Second World War, in Italy and Europe.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1958.2

George Tupper Campbell Carter-Campbell and Frances Elizabeth Ward.1 She married, firstly, Captain James Bertram Coates, son of Sir William Coates, on 21 December 1929.1 She and Captain James Bertram Coates were divorced in 1938.1 She married, secondly, Major Charles Neep, son of Reverend E. Neep, on 22 October 1938.1
     From 21 December 1929, her married name became Coates.1 From 22 October 1938, her married name became Neep.1

     He gained the rank of Major in the Suffolk Regiment.1 He lived in 2001 at Pumphouse Cottage, Ivorys, Cowfold, Sussex, England.1
