Charles Fairbairn was born on 12 August 1858 at Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of George Fairbairn and Virginia Armytage.1 He married Elizabeth Osborne, daughter of James Osborne, on 15 July 1891 at St. Stephen's Church, Elsternwick, Victoria, Australia.1,2 He died on 27 October 1925 at age 67, from cardio-vascular disease.2
