     Martha Burges was born on 17 July 1767 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 She was the daughter of John Burges and Martha Ford.1 She married James Johnston, son of Joseph Johnston and Anne McGeough, on 4 October 1787 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 She died circa December 1848 at Knappagh, County Armagh, Ireland.1 She was buried on 1 January 1849.2
     From 4 October 1787, her married name became Johnston.1
