Lt.-Col. John Townsend was born on 11 June 1786.1 He was the son of Richard Boyle Townsend and Henrietta Newenham.2 He died on 23 April 1845 at age 58.1
Lt.-Col. John Townsend gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 14th Light Dragoons.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria.1 He lived at Castle Townsend, County Cork, Ireland.1

Reverend Maurice FitzGerald Stephens-Townshend was the son of Richard Boyle Townsend and Henrietta Newenham.2 He married Alice Elizabeth Shute, daughter of Richard Shute, on 16 May 1826.1 He died on 2 March 1872.1
