     Lt.-Col. Walter St. George Burke was born on 27 April 1842.1 He was the son of James St. George Burke and Anne Eliza Grubbe.2 He married Mary Ann Amy Macrae Cockburn, daughter of George Ferguson Cockburn and Sarah Charlotte Bishop, on 6 June 1877.1 He died on 17 February 1916 at age 73.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Suffolk.1 He lived at Auberies, Bulmer, Essex, EnglandG.1

Ulick John Burke1

     Ulick John Burke was born on 29 July 1843.1 He was the son of James St. George Burke and Anne Eliza Grubbe.2 He married Edith Charlotte Barnardiston, daughter of Nathaniel Clarke Barnardiston, on 5 August 1869.1 He died on 12 March 1913 at age 69.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Suffolk Yeomanry Cavalry.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1868 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He lived at The Manor House, Newton Valence, Alton, Hampshire, EnglandG.1

Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Harte Franks1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Thomas Harte Franks was the son of William Franks and Catherine Hume.1 He married, firstly, Mathilda Kay, daughter of Richard Kay.1 He married, secondly, Rebecca Constantia Elizabeth van Worrell, daughter of A. B. van Worrell, on 1 March 1859 at London, EnglandG.1 He died on 5 February 1862, without issue.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)2 He fought in the Indian Mutiny in 1857.1

     Edith Charlotte Barnardiston was the daughter of Nathaniel Clarke Barnardiston.2 She married Ulick John Burke, son of James St. George Burke and Anne Eliza Grubbe, on 5 August 1869.1 She died on 2 January 1943.1
     From 5 August 1869, her married name became Burke.

Sir Ulick Roland Burke1

     Sir Ulick Roland Burke was born on 23 January 1872.1 He was the son of Ulick John Burke and Edith Charlotte Barnardiston.2 He married Henrietta May Bell, daughter of Reginald Bell, on 1 March 1905.1 He died on 3 December 1958 at age 86.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was Chief Agent for estates of the Duke of Devonshire between 1908 and 1939.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire between 1927 and 1951.1 He was President of the Royal Agricultural Society of England in 1937.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1939.1 He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Agricultural Society of England in 1950.1 He held the office of Member of the East Suffolk County Council.1

     Henrietta May Bell is the daughter of Reginald Bell.2 She married Sir Ulick Roland Burke, son of Ulick John Burke and Edith Charlotte Barnardiston, on 1 March 1905.1
     From 1 March 1905, her married name became Burke. She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.1 She lived in 1972 at Melton Mead, Woodbridge, Suffolk, EnglandG.1

     Kathleen Laura Burke was the daughter of Ulick John Burke and Edith Charlotte Barnardiston.2,1 She married Major Hugh Blomfield Nicholson, son of William Nicholson and Isabella Sarah Meek, on 17 December 1902.1 She died on 19 August 1936.1
     From 17 December 1902, her married name became Nicholson.1 She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)3
