     General John ffolliott Crofton was born on 9 October 1800.1 He was the son of Reverend Henry Crofton and Frances ffolliott.2 He married Anne Agnes Addison, daughter of John Addison, on 15 October 1845.1 He died on 17 July 1885 at age 84.1
     General John ffolliott Crofton graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was Colonel of the 6th Regiment.1

     Reverend Addison Crofton graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1
