     Alfred Ripley was born on 8 November 1852.1 He was the son of Sir Henry William Ripley, 1st Bt. and Susan Milligan.2 He died on 6 September 1870 at age 17, lost from H.M.S. Captain.1
     Alfred Ripley gained the rank of Midshipman in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Sir Henry William Alfred Ripley, 3rd Bt. was born on 3 January 1879.1 He is the son of Sir Edward Ripley, 2nd Bt. and Eugenie Frederica Fulcher Emmott-Rawdon.2 He married Dorothy Harley, daughter of Robert William Daker Harley and Hon. Patience Annie Rodney, on 17 January 1911.1 He died on 14 December 1956 at age 77.1
     Sir Henry William Alfred Ripley, 3rd Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 1st Royal Dragoons.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Ripley, of Acacia, Rawdon, West Riding of Yorkshire and Bedstone House, Shropshire [U.K., 1880] on 21 November 1903.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Herefordshire.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1940 in the service of the 7th Battalion, Shropshire Home Guard.1
