     Sir Hugh Acland, 1st/5th Bt. was born circa 1639.3 He was the son of Sir John Acland, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Vincent. He and Anne Daniel obtained a marriage license on 19 March 1673/74.3 He died circa March 1713/14. He was buried on 9 March 1713/14.3,4
     He was educated on 27 November 1652 at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.3,5 He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 22 June 1655 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)5 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1644] in 1672.3 He was created 1st Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [England] on 21 January 1677/78, with precedence of 1644.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Barnstaple in 1679.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tiverton between 1685 and 1687.3 He held the office of Sheriff of Devon from 1690 to 1691.4

     Anne Daniel was born circa 1654.3 She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Daniel.1 She and Sir Hugh Acland, 1st/5th Bt. obtained a marriage license on 19 March 1673/74.1 She died circa March 1727/28. She was buried on 15 March 1727/28.1,3
     Her married name became Acland.

     Sir John Acland, 1st Bt. was born circa 1591.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Acland and Eleanor Mallet.1 He married Elizabeth Vincent, daughter of Sir Francis Vincent, 1st Bt. and Sarah Paulet, before 1635.1 He died on 24 August 1647.1 He was buried at Stoke d'Abernon, Surrey, EnglandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 1 December 1646. His will was proven (by probate) between 30 November 1648 and 5 July 1671.2
     He held the office of Sheriff of Devon in 1641.1 He was created 1st Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [England] on 24 June 1644, although no docket has ever been found to support this owing to the confusion of the Civil War, in which he was a Royalist.1 He maintained a garrsion for the King at Columb-John, which at one time was the only force for the King which remained in the country.2 He lived at Columb-John, Broadclyst, Devon, EnglandG.1

     Elizabeth Vincent was the daughter of Sir Francis Vincent, 1st Bt. and Sarah Paulet.1 She married Sir John Acland, 1st Bt., son of Sir Arthur Acland and Eleanor Mallet, before 1635.1 She died before 25 January 1650.1 She died intestate and her estate was administered between 25 January 1650 and 6 July 1671.2
     From before 1635, her married name became Acland.1

     Sir Francis Vincent, 1st Bt. was born in 1568 at Stoke d'Abernon, Surrey, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Vincent and Jane Lyfield.2 He married, firstly, Sarah Paulet, daughter of Sir Amyas Paulet and Margaret Harvey.3 He married, secondly, Mary Archer, daughter of Sir Henry Archer.1 He married, thirdly, Eleanor Malet, daughter of Robert Malet.1 He died in 1640.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 15 May 1640.1
     He was appointed Knight on 23 July 1603.1 He was created 1st Baronet Vincent, of D'Abernon, co. Surrey [England] on 26 July 1620.1

     Margaret Rolle was the daughter of Dennis Rolle and Margaret Poulett.1 She married, firstly, Sir John Acland, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Acland, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Vincent, circa 1654.1 She married, secondly, Henry Ayshford after 1655.2 She died circa 1673.2 She died intestate and her estate was administered on 25 November 1673.2
     Her married name became Acland. From after 1655, her married name became Ayshford.2
