     Alice Marie Maitland was born circa 1880 at Sri Lanka.¹ She is the daughter of George Keith Maitland and Christina Mary Theresa McDonnell.¹ She married Major George Henry Kirby, son of Alfred Octavius Kirby and Alice Baxendale, in 1899 at Maitland Theresia Estate, Bogowantalawa, Sri Lanka.¹
      Alice Marie Maitland also went by the nick-name of Elsie.¹ From 1899, her married name became Kirby.¹

     George Keith Maitland was born on 11 January 1854.¹ He was the son of George Ramsay Maitland and Alice Anne Nisbet.¹ He was baptised on 22 February 1854 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He married Christina Mary Theresa McDonnell, daughter of Angus McDonnell of Keppoch, 20th Chief and Christina MacNab, in 1877.¹ He died on 17 March 1896 at age 42.¹

     Christina Mary Theresa McDonnell was born on 14 May 1845 at Kilmonivaig, Inverness-shire, Scotland.¹ She was the daughter of Angus McDonnell of Keppoch, 20th Chief and Christina MacNab.¹ She married George Keith Maitland, son of George Ramsay Maitland and Alice Anne Nisbet, in 1877.¹ She died on 29 December 1932 at age 87 at Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.¹
      From 1877, her married name became Maitland.¹

     Angus McDonnell of Keppoch, 20th Chief was born circa 1821 at Kilmore, Argyllshire, Scotland.¹ He was the son of Donald MacDonell and Ann McDonald.¹ He married Christina MacNab, daughter of John MacNab and Jessie MacDonald, on 17 August 1835.¹ He died in 1855.¹
     He held the position of 20th Chief of the Macdonalds of Keppoch.¹ He lived at Keppoch House, Kilmonivaig, Inverness-shire, Scotland.¹

     Henrietta Mary Gordon is the daughter of Major Lord Henry Gordon and Louisa Payne.¹
