     Lt.-Col. Piers Standish Plowden was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.3 He fought in the First World War.3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.3 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 17th Lancers.3 He was Aide-de-Camp to the High Commissioner to Egypt between 1925 and 1928.3 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Socts Guards.3 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1944.3
