     From 30 October 1952, her married name became Smith-Ryland. On 5 August 1964 she was granted the rank of baron's daughter.¹ She was invested as a Companion, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.) in 1981.¹ She was invested as a Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.St.J.) in 1990.¹ She held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Warwickshire in 1990.¹ From 2001, her married name became Wheeler-Bennett.¹ She lived in 2003 at Old Hall, Medbourne, Leicestershire, England.¹
