     Sir Charles Granville Stuart-Menteth of Closeburn, 1st Bt. was born on 15 May 1769. He was the son of Reverend James Stuart-Menteth and Catherine Maria Wheler.² He married Ludivina Loughnan, daughter of Thomas Loughnan and Philadelphia Fergusson, on 13 September 1791.³ He died on 3 December 1847 at age 78.
     He gained the title of 1st Baronet Stuart-Menteth, of Closeburn.

     Alice Mary Sinclair Hamilton was the daughter of John Hamilton.¹ She married John Francis Erskine Goodeve-Erskine, 27th Earl of Mar, son of William James Goodeve and Lady Frances Jemima Erskine, on 12 September 1866.¹ She died on 6 June 1924.¹
     As a result of her marriage, Alice Mary Sinclair Hamilton was styled as Countess of Mar on 12 September 1866. From 12 September 1866, her married name became Goodeve-Erskine.

     John Hamilton lived at Hilston Park, Monmouthshire, Wales.¹

     John Francis Hamilton Sinclair Cunliffe Brookes Forbes Goodeve-Erskine, 28th Earl of Mar was born on 27 February 1868.¹ He was the son of John Francis Erskine Goodeve-Erskine, 27th Earl of Mar and Alice Mary Sinclair Hamilton.¹ He married Sibyl May Dominica Heathcote, daughter of Robert Heathcote and Edith Mary Manners-Sutton, on 15 September 1903.² He died on 29 September 1932 at age 64, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He succeeded to the title of 28th Earl of Mar [S., c. 1115] on 17 June 1930.¹

     Sibyl May Dominica Heathcote was born on 11 June 1878.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Heathcote and Edith Mary Manners-Sutton.² She married John Francis Hamilton Sinclair Cunliffe Brookes Forbes Goodeve-Erskine, 28th Earl of Mar, son of John Francis Erskine Goodeve-Erskine, 27th Earl of Mar and Alice Mary Sinclair Hamilton, on 15 September 1903.¹ She died on 20 July 1958 at age 80, without issue.¹
      Her married name became Erskine. As a result of her marriage, Sibyl May Dominica Heathcote was styled as Countess of Mar on 17 June 1930.

     Mark Arundell is the son of Hon. William Arundell and Hon. Mary Browne.¹
     He lived without issue.¹ He lived at Horningsham, Wiltshire, England.¹

     Anne Drummond was born in 1555.² She was the daughter of David Drummond, 2nd Lord Drummond and Lilias Ruthven.^1,2 She married John Erskine, 19th/2nd Earl of Mar, son of John Erskine, 18th/1st Earl of Mar and Annabel Murray, between 29 October 1580 and 1 November 1580.³ She died in 1592.²
     She was also known as Agnes.³ As a result of her marriage, Anne Drummond was styled as Countess of Mar in 1580. Her married name became Erskine.

     James Erskine, Lord Grange was born in 1679. He was the son of Charles Erskine, 22nd/5th Earl of Mar and Lady Mary Maule.^3,1 He married Rachel Chiesley, daughter of John Chiesley of Dalry.³ He died on 24 January 1754.³
     He held the office of Lord of Session.³ He gained the title of Lord Grange [Scottish Law Lord].³ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁴
     

     Rachel Chiesley is the daughter of John Chiesley of Dalry.¹ She married James Erskine, Lord Grange, son of Charles Erskine, 22nd/5th Earl of Mar and Lady Mary Maule.¹
      Her married name became Erskine.¹
