     Grizel Sempill was the daughter of Robert Sempill, 3rd Lord Sempill and Isabel Hamilton.1,2 She married James Hamilton, 1st of Stonehouse, son of James Hamilton, 3rd of Raploch and Isabel Weir of Blackwood, before 10 March 1539/40.2 She and James Hamilton, 1st of Stonehouse were divorced before 21 February 1545/46.2 She died in October 1575.2
     She and Most Rev. John Hamilton were associated.3 From before 10 March 1539/40, her married name became Hamilton.2

     Sir John Cochrane was the son of Alexander Cochrane and Elizabeth Cochrane.1 He married Grace Butler.1 He died, without issue.1
     He fought in the English Civil War, as a Royalist.1 In 1642 he resigned his estates to his brother William.1
