     Sir John Ernest Michael Conant, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 April 1923.¹ He is the son of Sir Roger John Edward Conant, 1st Bt. and Daphne Lorraine Learoyd.² He married, firstly, Periwinkle Elizabeth Thorp, daughter of Dudley Thorp, on 16 September 1950.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Clare Madden, daughter of William E. Madden, on 11 July 1992.¹
     Sir John Ernest Michael Conant, 2nd Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1942 in the service of the Grenadier Guards.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1942 and 1945.¹ He was a farmer and landowner.¹ He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Rutland.¹ He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Conant, of Lyndon, co. Leicester [U.K., 1954] in 1973.¹ He lived in 2003 at Periwinkle Cottage, Lyndon, Oakham, Rutland, England.¹

     Periwinkle Elizabeth Thorp was the daughter of Dudley Thorp.² She married Sir John Ernest Michael Conant, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Roger John Edward Conant, 1st Bt. and Daphne Lorraine Learoyd, on 16 September 1950.¹ She died in 1985.¹
     From 16 September 1950, her married name became Conant.

     Christopher John Roger Conant was born on 19 March 1952.¹ He was the son of Sir John Ernest Michael Conant, 2nd Bt. and Periwinkle Elizabeth Thorp.² He died on 28 April 1958 at age 6, as result of an accident.¹
