     Admiral Sir Desmond Parry Dreyer was born on 6 April 1910 at Cheriton, Hampshire, England.1 He was the son of Admiral Frederic Charles Dreyer.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Chilton in 1934.1 He married, secondly, Marjorie Whitely in 1959.1 He died on 15 May 2003 at age 93.1
     He was decorated with the award of the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.).1 He fought in the Battle of the River Plate in 1939.1
     He had a son and a daughter by his first wife.1
