Philip Stanhope, 1st Earl of Chesterfield was born in 1584.1 He was the son of Sir John Stanhope and Cordell Alington.1 He married, firstly, Catherine Hastings, daughter of Francis Hastings, Lord Hastings and Sarah Harington, in 1605.1 He married, secondly, Anne Pakington, daughter of Sir John Pakington and Dorothy Smith, after 1636.1 He died on 12 September 1656, a prisoner.1 He was buried at St. Gile's-in-the-Fields Church, London, England.1
He was invested as a Knight on 16 December 1605 at Whitehall, London, England.1 He was created 1st Baron Stanhope of Shelford, co. Nottingham [England] on 7 November 1616.1 He was created 1st Earl of Chesterfield, co. Derby [England] on 4 August 1628.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1642 in the service of the Regiment of Dragoons.1 He fought in the Siege of Lichfield in 1643, where he became a prisoner.1

Thomas Foley, 2nd Baron Foley of Kidderminster was born on 24 June 1742.1 He was the son of Thomas Foley, 1st Baron Foley of Kidderminster and Hon.
