     Major Henry Lyall was born on 6 November 1849.2 He is the son of Charles Lyall and Harriet Matheson.2 He was baptised on 22 February 1850 at St. James, Paddington, London, England.2 He married Mary Sophia Akers, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Charles Style Akers and Henrietta Margaret Despard, in 1876 at Weymouth, Dorset, England.2
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.1

     Caroline Ramsay Akers was baptised on 22 December 1830 at King Charles the Martyr, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.2 She was the daughter of Aretas Akers and Isabella Larking.3 She married Reverend William Lewis Wigan in 1849 at Malling, Kent, England.1,2 She died on 6 April 1910 at age 79.1
     From 1849, her married name became Wigan.
