     Hon. Elizabeth Maxwell was the daughter of John Maxwell, 6th Lord Herries of Terregles and Elizabeth Maxwell.1,2 She married George Seton, 3rd Earl of Winton, son of Robert Seton, 1st Earl of Winton and Lady Margaret Montgomerie, before 1628.1
     From before 1628, her married name became Seton.1

     John Maxwell, 6th Lord Herries of Terregles was the son of William Maxwell, 5th Lord Herries of Terregles and Catherine Kerr.1 He married Elizabeth Maxwell, daughter of John Maxwell, 7th Lord Maxwell and Lady Elizabeth Douglas.2 He died circa May 1631.2
     He succeeded as the 6th Lord Herries of Terregles [S., 1490] on 10 October 1603.3

     John Maxwell, 3rd Earl of Nithsdale was the son of John Maxwell, 6th Lord Herries of Terregles and Elizabeth Maxwell.1 A contract for the marriage of John Maxwell, 3rd Earl of Nithsdale and Elizabeth Gordon was signed on 19 August 1626.1 He died between 16 February 1677 and 29 June 1677.1
     He succeeded as the 7th Lord Herries of Terregles [S., 1490] in 1631.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Nithsdale [S., 1620] on 5 October 1667.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Maxwell, Eskdale and Carleill [S., 1620] on 5 October 1667.2

     George Seton, Lord Seton was born on 15 May 1613.1 He was the son of George Seton, 3rd Earl of Winton and Lady Anne Hay.1 A contract for the marriage of George Seton, Lord Seton and Lady Henrietta Gordon was signed on 19 October 1639.1 He died on 4 June 1648 at age 35.1
     He was styled as Lord Seton.1 He fought in the Battle of Philiphaugh in 1645, where he was captured by the Parliamentarians.1

     Lady Henrietta Gordon was the daughter of George Gordon, 2nd Marquess of Huntly and Lady Anne Campbell.1,2 She married by contract, firstly, George Seton, Lord Seton, son of George Seton, 3rd Earl of Winton and Lady Anne Hay, on 19 October 1639.1 She married, secondly, John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Traquair, son of John Stewart, 1st Earl of Traquair and Lady Catherine Carnegie, in 1649.1 She died in 1651, in childbirth.2 She died in June 1651 at Traquair, Peebles-shire, ScotlandG, in childbirth.
     From 19 October 1639, her married name became Seton. From 1649, her married name became Stewart.

     John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Traquair was born after 8 March 1623/24.1 He was the son of John Stewart, 1st Earl of Traquair and Lady Catherine Carnegie.1 He married, firstly, Lady Henrietta Gordon, daughter of George Gordon, 2nd Marquess of Huntly and Lady Anne Campbell, in 1649.2 He married, secondly, Lady Anne Seton, daughter of George Seton, 3rd Earl of Winton and Hon. Elizabeth Maxwell, in April 1654 at Winton, EnglandG.2 He died in April 1666.1
     In 1648 taken with his father following Preston but shortly afterwards set free.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Traquair [S., 1633] on 27 March 1659.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Linton and Caberston [S., 1633] on 27 March 1659.1

George Seton, 4th Earl of Winton1

     George Seton, 4th Earl of Winton was born on 4 May 1642.1 He was the son of George Seton, Lord Seton and Lady Henrietta Gordon.1 He married, firstly, Lady Mary Montgomerie, daughter of Hugh Montgomerie, 7th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Mary Leslie, on 4 September 1662.1 He married, secondly, Christian Hepburn, daughter of John Hepburn of Adinstoun, before 6 March 1682.1 He died on 6 March 1704 at age 61.1
     He succeeded as the 9th Lord Seton [S., 1451] in December 1650.1 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Winton [S., 1600] in December 1650.1 He was joint-commander of the the men of East Lothian at Pentland in 1666.1 On 31 July 1686 he received a regrant of his titles, with a special remainder to any of his heirs, and failing that, to his nearest heirs, with daughters succeeding by primogeniture.1

     He was awarded the Knight, Order of St. Jago of Spain.1 He was Gentleman of the Bedchmaber to King Philip II of Spain.1 He was Master of the Household to King Philip II of Spain.1 He held the office of Extra Lord of Session on 17 February 1587.1 He lived at Barns, Peebles-shire, ScotlandG.1 He was ancestor of the Setons of Barns.1

     William Forbes, 7th Lord Forbes was the son of John Forbes, 6th Lord Forbes and Christian Lundie.2 He married Elizabeth Keith, daughter of William Keith of Inverugie, younger and Janet Gray, on 19 December 1538.2 He died in 1593.
     He held the office of Gentleman of the Bedchamber in 1539.2 He succeeded as the 7th Lord Forbes [S., 1445] in 1547.2 He had two other sons, both died young.2
