     Colonel Hubert Francis Grant-Suttie was born on 15 December 1884.1 He was the son of Robert Grant-Suttie and Hon. Edith Mary Dawnay.1 He married Torfrida Alianore Lethbridge, daughter of Captain Sir Wroth Periam Christopher Lethbridge, 5th Bt. and Alianore Chandos-Pole, on 14 April 1920.1 He died on 3 June 1973 at age 88 at Whitelands House, Cheltenham Terrace, London, England.2
     He was educated at Malvern College, Malvern, Worcestershire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1940.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.) in 1948.1
