Arthur Cole, 1st Baron Ranelagh was born circa 1669.2 He was the son of Sir John Cole, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Chichester.1,2 He married, firstly, Catherine Byron, daughter of William Byron, 3rd Baron Byron of Rochdale, on 8 September 1692.2 He married, secondly, Selina Bathurst, daughter of Peter Bathurst, on 26 June 1748.2 He died on 5 October 1754, without issue.3
Arthur Cole, 1st Baron Ranelagh succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Cole, of Newland, co. Dublin [I., 1660].2 He was created 1st Baron Ranelagh, of Ranelagh, co. Wicklow [Ireland] on 18 April 1715.4 On her death, his titles became extinct.2
