     George Horsley Wood was born in March 1793.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Wood and Jane Clark.1 He was baptised on 22 April 1793 at St. Mathews Church, Douglas, Isle of Man.1 He married, firstly, Eleanor Link, daughter of George Link and Eleanor Bradford, on 30 November 1822 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Christian, daughter of Joseph Christian and Katherine Scales, on 2 February 1831 at Marylebone, London, England.1 He died on 23 February 1874 at age 80 at Douglas, Isle of Man.1
     George Horsley Wood gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 67th Regiment.2 He lived at Falcon Cliffs, Douglas, Isle of Man.1
