     Mary Christian was born in 1731 at Crossthwaite, Cumberland, England.1 She was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Christian and Elizabeth Monkhouse.1 She married John Scales, son of Rowland Scales and Elizabeth Denny, on 23 February 1773.2 She died in July 1779 at Thwaitehead, Lancashire, England, in childbirth.1
     From 23 February 1773, her married name became Scales.2

     Charles Nicholas Warton was born on 24 June 1832 at Mill Hill, Hendon, Middlesex, England.1 He was the son of Charles Warton and Maria Phené.1 He married Agnes Christian Wood, daughter of George Horsley Wood and Margaret Christian, on 24 August 1864.1 He died on 31 July 1900 at age 68 at West Hampstead, Middlesex, England.1
     Charles Nicholas Warton was educated at University College School, London, England.1 He was educated at Clare Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1857.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Bridport between 1880 and 1885.1 He held the office of Attorney-General [Western Australia] between 1886 and 1890.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Western Australia] between 1886 and 1890.1
