Edward Knight was born on 10 May 1794 at Godmersham, Kent, England.2,3,4 He was the son of Edward Knight and Elizabeth Bridges.2 He was baptised on 20 June 1794 at St. Lawrence Church, Goodnestone, Kent, England.4 He married, firstly, Mary Dorothea Knatchbull, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Knatchbull, 9th Bt. and Annabella Christiana Honywood, on 5 May 1826.5,4 He married, secondly, Adela Portal, daughter of John Portal and Elizabeth Drummond, on 3 March 1840.4 He died on 5 November 1879 at age 85 at Alton, Hampshire, England.5,3
