     Helen Mary Malcolm was born on 15 March 1918.³ She was the daughter of Sir Ian Zachary Malcolm, 17th of Poltalloch and Jeanne Marie Langtry.^1,4 She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Sir Basil Hardington Bartlett, 2nd Bt., son of Hardington Arthur Bartlett and Irene Robinson, on 5 January 1937.¹ She and Lt.-Col. Sir Basil Hardington Bartlett, 2nd Bt. were divorced in 1960.¹ She married, secondly, John Colin McFadyean, son of Sir Andrew McFadyean and Dorothea Emily Chute, on 16 June 1960.³ She died on 13 October 2010 at age 92.⁵
     Helen Mary Malcolm usually went by her middle name of Mary.⁴ From 5 January 1937, her married name became Bartlett.¹ She was a BBC announcer between 1942 and 1946.³ She was a BBC TV announcer between 1947 and 1958.⁴ She was a freelance television artist in 1959.³ Her married name became McFadyean.⁴ She lived in 2003 at 30 Queen's Grove, London, England^G.³

     Sir Ian Zachary Malcolm, 17th of Poltalloch was born on 3 September 1868.² He was the son of Colonel Edward Donald Malcolm, 16th of Poltalloch and Isabella Wyld Brown.³ He married Jeanne Marie Langtry, daughter of Admiral Louis Alexander Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Milford Haven and Emily Charlotte le Breton, on 30 June 1902.⁴ He died on 28 December 1944 at age 76.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He was Hon Attache at Berlin between 1891 and 1893.² He was Hon Attache at Paris in 1893.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk, Stowmarket Division between 1895 and 1906.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Argyllshire in 1898.² He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Croydon between 1910 and 1918.² He was Red Cross Officer in France, Russia, Italy and USA between 1914 and 1918.² He was awarded the Commandeur, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.² He held the position of Chief of the Clan Malcolm from.⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Croydon between 1918 and 1919.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Surrey in 1919.² He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1919.² He was Director of the Suez Canal Company in November 1919.² He was awarded the Grand Cordon, Order of the Nile.²

     Julia Jane Bartlett was born on 31 December 1937.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Basil Hardington Bartlett, 2nd Bt. and Helen Mary Malcolm.¹ She married John Atkinson in 1966.¹
     From 1966, her married name became Atkinson.¹ She lived in 2003 at 12 Brookside, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹

     John Atkinson was born before 1951. He married Julia Jane Bartlett, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Basil Hardington Bartlett, 2nd Bt. and Helen Mary Malcolm, in 1966.¹
