     Johanna Radclyffe was born circa 1555.2 She was the daughter of Edward Radclyffe.1 She married Ralph Assheton, son of Ralph Assheton and Alice Hulton.1
     Her married name became Assheton. She was also known as Joanna Radclyff.3

     Sir Henry Curwen was born in May 1528 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, EnglandG.2,3 He was the son of Sir Thomas Christopher Curwen and Agnes Strickland.2 He married, secondly, Catherine Lambton.3 He married, firstly, Mary Fairfax, daughter of Sir Nicholas Fairfax and Jane Palmes, circa 1549 at Workington, Cumberland, EnglandG.2 He married, thirdly, Jane Crosby at Workington, Cumberland, EnglandG.2 He died in 1592 at Workington Hall, Cumberland, EnglandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 31 January 1597 at Yorkshire, EnglandG.3
     He was appointed Knight on 22 August 1570.3

     Sir Henry Bellingham, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir James Bellingham and Agnes Curwen.1 He married Dorothy Boynton, daughter of Sir Francis Boynton.2 He died in October 1650.2
     He was created 1st Baronet Bellingham, of Helsington, co. Westmorland [England] on 30 May 1620.2 He was appointed Knight on 31 May 1620 at Theobalds, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland from 1625 to 1626.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland from April 1640 to May 1640.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland from November 1640 to October 1645.2 In July 1646 he was a compounder.2 In February 1647 he was fined £3,228, as a Royalist.2 In May 1649 he was fined a further £1,971.2

     Eleanor Shuttleworth was the daughter of Thomas Shuttleworth and Anne Lever.1 She married Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Bt., son of Ralph Assheton and Johanna Radclyffe, in April 1610.1 She died in 1658, without issue.1
     From April 1610, her married name became Assheton.1
