Ponsonby Glenn Huggins was born on 21 January 1857 at Saint Vincent Island, British Antilles.3 He was the son of Horatio James Huggins and Letitia Laborde.1,3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Sophia Grierson, daughter of Commander William Charles Grierson and Emma Sophia Comerford, on 25 October 1883 at Christ Church, Clapham, Surrey, EnglandG.1,3 He married, secondly, Margaret Rose Wylie, daughter of John Eaton McLeod Wylie and Rose Stacey, on 18 June 1912.1 He died on 4 January 1925 at age 67 at London, EnglandG.1,3
     He was educated at Wurttemberg, GermanyG.3 He was educated at SwitzerlandG.3 He was commissioned on 19 April 1876 with the rank of Lieutenant, in the service of the British Army.3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He gained the rank of on 5 November 1877 in the Madras Staff Corps.3 He fought in the Afghan War between 1878 and 1879.3 He fought in the Burma Campaign between 1885 and 1889, and was mentioned in despatches.3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1887.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 21st Madras Pioneer, Indian Army.1,3 He fought in the Bazar Valley Operations in 1897, and was mentioned in despatches.3 He fought in the Tirah Campaign between 1897 and 1898.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1902.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1909.1
