     Albrecht Heinrich Joseph Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg was born on 14 April 1843.2 He was the son of Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg and Luise Caroline Prinzessin Reuss zu Greiz.1 He married, firstly, Marie Elisabeth Luise Friederike Prinzessin von Preußen, daughter of Friedrich Karl Nikolaus Prinz von Preußen and Marie Anne Prinzessin von Anhalt-Dessau, on 6 May 1885.2 He married, secondly, Helene Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Strelitz, daughter of Georg Herzog von Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Ekaterina Mikhailovna Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia, on 13 December 1891 at Remplin, Germany.2 He died on 22 May 1902 at age 59 at Serrahn, Germany.2
     He gained the title of Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg.1
