     John Leyland Feilden was born on 29 September 1821 at Pleasington, Lancashire, England.1,2 He was the son of Sir William Feilden, 1st Bt. and Mary Haughton Jackson.3 He married, firstly, Eliza Whigham Kennedy, daughter of James Kennedy and Jean Brown, on 8 October 1851 at St. Mary, St. Denys and St. George, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1,2 He married, secondly, Charlotte Isabella Collin, daughter of Peter Collin, on 31 October 1894.1 He died on 12 March 1915 at age 93 at Newent, Gloucestershire, England.1,2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 3rd Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.1

     Mary Haughton Feilden was born on 26 June 1800 at Jamaica.2 She was the daughter of Sir William Feilden, 1st Bt. and Mary Haughton Jackson.3 She married Reverend John William Whittaker on 20 June 1825.1 She died on 30 November 1871 at age 71 at Riverslea House, Southport, Lancashire, England.1,2
     From 20 June 1825, her married name became Whittaker.1

     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.2 He was a practising barrister-at-law.1 He lived at Downland, Uckfield, Sussex, England.2
