     Maj.-Gen. John Blakiston-Houston was born on 18 April 1881.1 He was the son of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild.1 He married, firstly, Louise Henrietta Leconte, daughter of Gustave Louis Leconte, on 22 November 1910.1 He married, secondly, Emma Millicent Coles, daughter of George Frederick Coles, on 20 May 1954.1 He died on 14 December 1959 at age 78, without issue.1
     He was commissioned in 1899, in the service of the Royal Irish Rifles.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He gained the rank of in 1902 in the 11th Hussars.1 He gained the rank of in 1905 in the West African Frontier Force.1 He gained the rank of Adjutant in 1911 in the Sussex Yeomanry.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He gained the rank of in 1923 in the 12th Royal Lancers.1 He was commander of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade between 1927 and 1931.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in 1931.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1935.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1936.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1942.1

     Louise Henrietta Leconte was the daughter of Gustave Louis Leconte.1 She married Maj.-Gen. John Blakiston-Houston, son of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild, on 22 November 1910.1 She died on 11 January 1952.1
     From 22 November 1910, her married name became Blakiston-Houston.1

     From 20 May 1954, her married name became Blakiston-Houston.1

     Air Vice-Marshal Francis Rowland Scarlett was born on 18 May 1875.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. William James Scarlett and Henrietta Catherine Low.1,2 He married Dora Blakiston-Houston, daughter of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild, on 2 February 1905.1 He died on 15 April 1934 at age 58.1
