Hugh Granville Leveson Dudley Ryder was born on 26 January 1900.2 He was the son of Reverend Algernon Charles Dudley Ryder and Constance Eugenia Smith.2 He married, firstly, Diana Vivian Makins, daughter of Sir Paul Augustine Makins, 2nd Bt. and Gladys Marie Vivian, on 2 March 1926.1 He married, secondly, Patricia Geraldine Browne, daughter of Gerald Macleay Browne, on 12 June 1955.2 He died on 9 March 1983 at age 83.2
     Lt.-Col. Hugh Granville Leveson Dudley Ryder fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery, Territorial Army.2 He was Assistant Military Attaché to Athens between 1943 and 1945.2 He was decorated with the award of Territorial Decoration (T.D.).2

Frederick Dudley Ryder and Marian Charlotte Emily Cokayne.1 He married Constance Eugenia Smith, daughter of Rowland Smith and Constance Henrietta Sophia Louisa Somerset, on 5 July 1889.1 He died on 19 January 1943 at age 95.1
     Reverend Algernon Charles Dudley Ryder graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was the Rector at Maresfield, Uckfield, Sussex, England.1
