Captain Hugh Cuthbert Dudley Ryder was born on 10 February 1843.1 He was the son of Hon. Frederick Dudley Ryder and Marian Charlotte Emily Cokayne.1 He married Ada Julia Cautley, daughter of Colonel Sir Proby Thomas Cautley, on 17 February 1887.1 He died on 14 January 1898 at age 54, unmarried.1
