     Joan Anne Williams was born on 24 December 1916.² She was the daughter of Robert Henry Williams.¹ She married Sir David Treharne Llewellyn, son of Sir David Richard Llewellyn, 1st Bt. and Magdalene Anne Harries, on 18 February 1950.¹ She died on 26 November 2013 at age 96.²
     She gained the rank of Squadron Officer in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force.² She was head of the Cabinet Cipher Office between 1942 and 1946.² Her married name became Llewellyn. She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)²
