Dorothea Gwenllian James was born on 16 August 1897.2 She was the daughter of Walter John James, 3rd Baron Northbourne of Betteshanger and Laura Gwenllian Rice.1 She married Randall Hugh Vivian Smith, 2nd Baron Bicester, son of Vivian Hugh Smith, 1st Baron Bicester and Lady Sybil Mary McDonnell, on 29 November 1922.1 She died on 20 August 1974 at age 77.3,4
     Her married name became Smith.
