Sir Lionel Edward Hamilton Marmaduke Darell, 6th Bt. was born on 2 April 1876.3 He was the son of Sir Lionel Edward Darell, 5th Bt. and Helen Frances Marshland.2 He married Eleanor Marion Edwards-Heathcote, daughter of Captain Justinian John Edwards-Heathcote, on 21 April 1903.3 He died on 27 May 1954 at age 78.3
