     Sir Lionel Edward Darell, 5th Bt. was born on 6 September 1845.1 He was the son of Reverend Sir William Lionel Darell, 4th Bt. and Harriet Mary Tierny.2 He married Helen Frances Marshland, daughter of Edward Marshland, on 26 June 1870.1 He died on 17 February 1919 at age 73.1
     Sir Lionel Edward Darell, 5th Bt. held the office of Member of the Gloucestershire County Council.3 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Darell, of Ancaster House, Richmond Hill, Surrey [G.B., 1795] on 1 June 1883.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Gloucestershire in 1887.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Gloucestershire Yeomanry Cavalry.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Gloucestershire.1
