     Hon. Herbert William Brooks was born on 1 March 1890.1 He was the son of William Brooks, 2nd Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw and Mary Ethel Hicks-Beach.2 He married Hilda Muriel Steel, daughter of Allen Gibson Steel, on 12 July 1922.1 He died on 24 November 1974 at age 84.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christs Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was 1st Secretary with the Diplomatic Service.1 He graduated from Christs Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1926 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire between 1942 and 1957.1

     William Brooks, 2nd Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw was born on 16 October 1853.1 He was the son of Thomas Brooks, 1st Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw and Catherine Jones.2 He married Mary Ethel Hicks-Beach, daughter of Sir Michael Hicks-Beach, 8th Bt. and Harriett Vittoria Stratton, on 12 October 1882.1 He died on 19 January 1929 at age 75.1
     He graduated from Christs Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Leicestershire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw, co. Lancaster and of Whatton, co. Leicester [U.K., 1892] on 5 February 1908.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Brooks [U.K., 1891] on 5 February 1908.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the service of the 5th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment.1

      From 12 October 1882, her married name became Brooks. As a result of her marriage, Mary Ethel Hicks-Beach was styled as Baroness Crawshaw of Crawshaw on 5 February 1908.

     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.).2 He gained the title of 8th Baronet Hicks-Beach.

She died on 20 January 1900 at age 86 at Penllergare, Llangyfelach, Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales.1
